Carnivorous Plant - Dionaea
Carnivorous Plant - Dionaea
Venus flytrap ( Dionaea muscipula ) is an insectivorous perennial plant native to marshy areas of the Carolina coast, on the East Coast of the United States. They draw their nutrients from the soil, but also from the insects they trap (no need to feed it, it does very well on its own). When an insect lands, the plant closes its jaws on its victim.
The ideal plant to combat small fruit flies in the house.
Lighting: Average without direct sun.
Watering: Water preferably with rainwater or demineralized water. In winter, the substrate must remain slightly damp. From spring, and especially in summer, very regular watering is necessary.
